In an address to Duke Law School’s DC Summer Institute on Law and Policy, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg explained the title and plot of Derrick Wang’s opera Scalia/Ginsburg:
My feminist friends say, “How could you allow it to be [titled] Scalia/Ginsburg? G is first alphabetically!” And I explained that in the Court we do everything by seniority. So: Scalia is a few justices ahead of Justice Ginsburg — hence the opera is called Scalia/Ginsburg.
