Derrick Wang speaks at Stony Brook University on aesthetic influence of Justices Scalia and Ginsburg
On September 17, 2016, Derrick Wang spoke at Stony Brook University as part of the Center for Italian Studies 2016 conference, Remembering Justice Antonin Scalia.
Capping the conference was Derrick Wang’s presentation The Aesthetic Influence of Justices Scalia and Ginsburg, exploring how the Justices’ opinions inspired his interdisciplinary opera Scalia/Ginsburg.
Introduced by Professor David Lawton, Artistic Director of Stony Brook Opera, the presentation concluded with an excerpt from Scalia/Ginsburg sung by Stony Brook graduate students Jeremy Little (tenor) and Catherine Sandstedt (soprano).
